Terrys Rede zum Internationalen Tag der Roma
During my work for equal rights for Roma, I have again and again been thanked for what I was doing. I do not want to be thanked any more. I do not want to live in a society where Roma feel obliged be thankful for that any longer. We are the ones who should be grateful. I am grateful for the richness of Roma culture, for the power of Roma activists, for all the Roma who shared their experience with me and who have let me fight side by side with them against anti-gypsyism and for a European Union of equal rights.
